St. James Welcomes a New Rector!
The Search Process is Complete!
On behalf of the St. James Vestry, it is our privilege to announce the good news that our search process is complete. The Reverend Kenneth Lawrence Erickson has been called to be our new rector. Ken is a graduate of Wheaton College and the Duke University Divinity School and has been a priest serving the Episcopal Church since 2002. He began his ministry with the Diocese of Oregon and more recently, has been serving the Diocese of Chicago in Winnetka, Illinois. Ken Erickson, his wife Katherine, and teenage son Emil will join us effective July 1, 2012.
As revealed through the search process, Ken has demonstrated his readiness to lead our parish community into the future and help us achieve our goals as expressed in the parish profile. His accomplishments are many including an impressive track record as an excellent pastoral care giver, preacher, teacher, bridge builder, administrator and fundraiser. His demeanor is welcoming, energetic and engaging. Our members will soon experience the warmth of his sense of humor, love of family and a confidence that will facilitate a smooth transition to this new role.
Ken and his family send their shared excitement as they prepare to move to our community where they will experience a loving parish ready to embrace them. He and his family will join us for Trinity Sunday services on June 3, 2012 for an introductory visit. Until then Ken Erickson sends us the following greeting:
I am very happy to be coming to St. James to serve as your rector. It has been evident through my many interactions both with the search committee and the wardens that St. James is a parish community alive in the Spirit. I look forward to journeying together with you into God's future, and to discovering together what we will become.
Faithfully and thankfully,
Rebecca Smith, Senior Warden
Larry Parrott, Junior Warden
